Cargo Tracking Note Solutions

Togo Requires ECTN

Effective December 1, 2015 Togo requires ECTN. The government will cease allowing Togolese Importers to apply for the ECTN at destination. Togo requires ECTNs for cargo arriving in Togo after 11.1.15. Cargo not having the official Antaser ECTN will cause shipping lines and receivers to be fined. Receivers will be unable to clear their cargo until a valid ECTN obtained at the loading is presented. ECTN numbers should be listed on the Bill of Lading and the cargo manifest.

If shipping to Togo, the government has implemented a new requirement as of December 1, 2015: the ECTN. All cargo arriving in Togo after 11.1.15 must have an official Antaser ECTN.

It’s also important to note that now Togo requires the ectn to be completed before arrival at destination. If you’re shipping to Togo, you need to make sure you obtain a valid ECTN at the loading point before the cargo is shipped. The ECTN number should be listed on both the Bill of Lading and the cargo manifest.

Failing to comply with the ECTN requirement can result in significant delays and added costs for your shipment. Receivers will be unable to clear their cargo until a valid ECTN is presented, which can cause further complications and delays in the supply chain.

To ensure a smooth shipping process to Togo, it’s crucial to obtain a valid ECTN at the loading point and include the ECTN number on all shipping documents. By doing so, you can avoid fines due to Togo requiring the ECTN.
