Sudan to Implement an ACD (ECTN) Requirement

Beginning on January 1, 2026 all shipments regardless of final destination will require the ACD (Advance Cargo Declaration) also known as ECTN (electronic cargo tracking note).

Failure to obtain the Sudan ACD will result in fines, and in some cases rejection of the cargo or seizure of the goods.

Sudan will require the following documents:

  • Bill of Lading – draft BL is sufficient
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Freight Invoice

The Sudan ACD number, once issued is required to be clearly stated on the bill of lading.

Who is Responsible for Obtaining the ACD

The Sudan ACD must be obtained at the loading port by the shipper or freight forwarder.

How long does it take to get a Sudan ACD?
