Angola CNCA Timeline and Deadlines

The Angola CNCA certificate must be validated before the vessel arrives at the destination port. Missing this deadline is a very common cause of penalty and customs clearance delays.

If your shipment is on the water, please contact AfricaCTN to ensure your CTN is validated prior to the deadline.

This guide explains the Angola CNCA timeline, submission window and how to speed up the process if you have a tight deadline.

Angola CNCA Validation Deadline

The CNCA must be validated prior to vessel arrival in Angola. That means:

  • The filing must be started at minimum a few days prior to the deadline
  • The draft CNCA must be reviewed and approved in time
  • The invoice must be paid

If your shipment is on the water and you need a CNCA, please contact AfricaCTN and we will assist in filing for your Angola CNCA to make the validation deadline.

Submission Window Requirements

AfricaCTN typically recommends that all documents are submitted at least 3-5 days prior to the validation deadline to ensure we have enough time to get the CNCA validated.

The required documents are the BL, commercial invoice, freight invoice, DU and ARCCLA form (download the template here)

Common Causes of Delay

The most common cause of delay when obtaining the Angola CNCA is a missing or expired DU. Since this process will require the consignee getting an updated and current DU in Angola we cannot help speed up this process. Other common delays we see are:

  • Only having access to the HBL
  • Not making payment of the invoice early enough
  • Missing or incorrect information between the shipping documents

How to Increase Approval Speed

Ensuring complete and accurate documents is the most effective way to speed up the validation of your electronic cargo tracking note.

If all of your documents are complete and ready and you need to get your CNCA approved quickly, we will proceed with the validation immediately upon receipt of a PayCargo remittance or a screenshot of your Zelle remittance.

Final Words

The Angola CNCA certificate must be validated prior to vessel arrival, to avoid delays:

  • Apply as soon as final documents are ready
  • Allow 3-5 days for the complete process
  • Ensure all documents are complete and correct
