The DR Congo FERI must be validated prior to vessel arrival at the discharge port. Missing the deadline can cause fines and delays.
This guide will explain the deadline and submission window requirements when submitting a DR Congo FERI Certificate to AfricaCTN.
DR Congo FERI Validation Deadline
All DR Congo FERIs must be validated prior to vessel arrival at the discharge port. That means:
- The filing must be started minimum 3-5 days prior to the deadline
- The draft FERI must be reviewed and approved by the shipper
- The invoice must be paid
If your shipment is on the water and you need your DR Congo FERI, please contact AfricaCTN and we will help expedite your FERI submission to ensure you meet the deadline.
Submission Window Requirements
AfricaCTN recommends submitting all necessary documents at least 3-5 days prior to the validation deadline. This ensures enough time to generate the draft, approve it, pay the invoice and submit the draft for final validation.
The documents required to submit a FERI certificate are the BL, commercial invoice, freight invoice, FXI number and the shipper’s subscription number.
Summary
The DR Congo FERI Certificate must be validated prior to vessel arrival and your shipping documents should be submitted to AfricaCTN at least 3-5 days prior to the deadline to ensure enough time to complete the process.
