Cameroon BESC Timeline and Deadlines

The Cameroon BESC must be validated at least 5 days prior to vessel arrival in the discharge port. Missing the deadline will cause delays and a penalty of 200% the cost of the BESC.

This guide will explain the deadline, submission window and common causes of delay.

Cameroon BESC Validation Deadline

All Cameroon BESCs must be validated at least 5 days prior to vessel arrival. That means:

  • The filing must be started minimum 3-5 days prior to the deadline
  • The draft BESC must be reviewed and approved by the shipper

If your shipments is on the water and you need your Cameroon BESC, please contact AfricaCTN and we will help expedite your BESC submission to ensure you meet the deadline.

Submission Window Requirements

AfricaCTN recommends submitting all necessary documents at least 3-5 days prior to the validation deadline. This ensures there is enough time to generate the draft, approve it, pay the invoice and submit the draft for final validation.

The documents required to submit the BESC for validation are the BL, commercial invoice, freight invoice and consignee’s TaxID and PR number.

Common Causes of Delay

When getting the Cameroon BESC the most common cause of delays are typically:

  • Missing consignee’s TaxID and PR number
  • Mismatched consignee name between the single windows system and what is shown on the BL
  • Incorrect or inconsistent weight between documents

Summary

The Cameroon BESC must be validated at least 5 days prior to vessel arrival and the shipping documents must be submitted to AfricaCTN at least 3-5 days prior to the validation deadline.
