The GM of the Cameroon BESC National Shippers’ Council hereby reminds persons engaged in foreign trade that the ECTN is a document that allows shippers to anticipate customs clearance procedures. Consequently, late ECTN submission and regularization procedures are exceptional measures subject to special processing fees.
Since the start of 2022, it has been noticed that this seems to be a more common option for shippers. Should this trend continue, the CNSC will be obliged to increase the late ECTN submission or regularization penalty fee.
ECTNs are established through port agents and must be validated two days prior to the arrival in Cameroon.
