ECTN questions, answered from AfricaCTN’s guides.
AfricaCTN ECTN Guide is an information-only plugin for ChatGPT, provided by AfricaCTN LLC. It helps shippers, freight forwarders and other users understand cargo tracking certificate requirements using AfricaCTN’s public ECTN knowledge base.
What you can ask
- Which certificate applies to your destination and transit route.
- Which documents are required, including conditional requirements.
- What the guide says about validation deadlines and estimated processing times.
- How AfricaCTN’s application procedure works.
- What ECTN, BESC, BSC, FERI, ACD and other shipping terms mean.
Try these questions
- “What documents do I need for a Cameroon BESC?”
- “My cargo discharges in Cameroon and goes to Chad. Which certificate do I need?”
- “Does paying my invoice mean my certificate is validated?”
Sources and updates
The hosted guide retrieves country guides, general procedures, a glossary and shipping-line tracking references from AfricaCTN’s public GitHub knowledge base. Its country list is discovered from the repository. Answers are instructed to link to the exact source revision used.
A read-only connection hosted through Sites retrieves the repository’s current main-branch revision. Successful source responses may be cached for up to five minutes. Updates to the knowledge base become available through this connection without rebuilding the plugin. If retrieval fails after the cache expires, the service reports the failure rather than presenting an old snapshot as current.
Country coverage depends on the available guides. A missing guide does not establish that a certificate is unnecessary. For missing, uncertain or conflicting information, contact AfricaCTN for confirmation.
Information only
This version does not submit applications, receive documents on AfricaCTN’s behalf, send messages to agents, look up application status, validate certificates or process payments. Its public tools require no sign-in, account connection, API key or AfricaCTN customer account. Shipping-line tracker references are links, not live vessel tracking.
You can ask questions without uploading shipping documents. For a route or deadline question, the destination, discharge country, cargo type and relevant dates may be sufficient. Keep confidential shipment details and payment information out of ordinary knowledge questions.
Availability
The public knowledge service is available without authentication. The ChatGPT plugin is being prepared for public directory review and has not yet been published in the directory. It is intended to be free and available wherever the applicable ChatGPT plugin experience is supported. Any charges for ChatGPT or separate AfricaCTN certificate services are outside this plugin.
