SOMALIA
As of February 1, 2023 the Somali Port Authority on behalf of the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport of Somalia is requiring ECTN’s for all imports to Somali Ports.
Cargo Tracking Notes will not be issued at discharge port.
Procedure:
- Submit the required documents by email or online submission.
- You will receive an invoice typically within the same day.
- After receipt of your payment, we will submit your documents and a draft will be sent to you within 24 hours.

Timeline:
Once we receive this information, we will issue an invoice for fees. After the payment is received we will submit your documents and a draft will be issued. This typically takes 24 hours. Once the draft is approved, please allow up to 48 hours for validation to be released.
Important Information:
- The ECTN number must be written on the Bill of Lading
- Shipments without ECTN documents arriving in Somali Ports will face penalties and fines
- Shipments without ECTN will not be loaded on the vessel
