Beginning on May 2025, the CNSC will require shippers obtaining an ECTN for Roro’s to provide proof of registration in the Importers/Exporters File (FIMEX) or a valid Special Import Authorization.
Shippers will still be able to begin the ECTN application, but they must submit this proof before the valid ECTN will be issued. If this requirement is not met your shipment may face fines and penalties at the discharge port.
