DR Congo FERI Required Documents

To apply for a DR Congo FERI Certificate you must submit a standard set of documents that provide key shipment details such as the parties involved, goods and value.

Incomplete or incorrect documents can cause delays, fines or issues at the discharge port. This guide outlines each required document, what it includes, and important notes.

Bill of Lading

What It Is:

A document issued by the carrier or shipping line, confirming the shipment details and voyage information.

What We Need From It:

• Shipper and consignee
• Notify party
• Vessel and voyage
• Port of loading & discharge
• Container numbers & seal numbers
• Description of goods

Important Notes:

• Draft bill of lading is acceptable

Commercial Invoice

What It Is:

A document showing the value of the goods being shipped.

What We Need From It:

• Goods value
• Currency
• Incoterm

Important Notes:

• Must match the goods mentioned on the bill of lading

Freight Invoice

What It Is:

A document showing the cost of the ocean freight.

What We Need From It:

• Freight value

• Not required if the freight value is listed on the commercial invoice

FXI Number

What It Is:

The FXI (Folder eXpedition Inbound) number is the identifier for the import license created in DR Congo’s GUICE pre-clearance module.

Shipper’s Subscription Number

What It Is:

A yearly identifier required for all importers bringing goods into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), linked to an annual card from OGEFREM.
